A town in the northwestern part of Tenerife, Garachico is located 85 km south - southwest of the island's capital, and northwest of Los Cristianos and Las Américas.
With a population of 5,756 per 2003 survey, its density is 135.28/km² and the area is 29.281 km². The elevation is 10 m. Garachico is linked north of the superhighway and is linked as well with and very near to the highway connecting Adeje and Icod de los Vinos.
Farmlands are in the valley areas and within the Atlantic, the mountain and the hills surround El Tanque. It has an agricultural based economy. A beach and a port is located north of the town hall of Garachico.
