| Candelaria is a municipality of the island Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands off the northern coast of Africa. The town occupies 48.52 square kilometers on the island's east coast. Candelaria is more completely known as La Virgen de Candelaria (The Virgin of Candelaria), and is a suburb of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the island. The town's economy is based on some agriculture, commerce, and tourism: in the urban area along the coastline, resorts can be found, while farmlands can be found farther inland away from the coast.

| Candelaria is most known as a place of pilgrimages since the image of the patron of the island is in that city - la Virgen de la Candelaria. Every year, at 15th of August the habitants of the island, and also the tourists that go till there, celebrate the Fiesta of Candelaria. People from the entire island go there to celebrate one of the most important holidays in the island.
