What can you do in Tenerife

Tenerife is an island where you can do many and different things. It depends on what do you like to do.

There are many places to go, many sports to do, many shops to go, many towns to visit, many bars to go into…

  • You can travel to any of the thirty one municipalities there are in the island. The most important are Adeje, Arona, Candelaria, La Guancha, Guía de Isora, La Orotava, Puerto de la Cruz, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Santiago de Teide.

  • You can g oto the beach every day, to get brown, to play there, just to walk by the shore…

  • Although there is a small island, it has many mountains to walk through. You can visit the Teide volcano or you can go to any other mount smaller in the rest of the city.

  • If you like the sea and you would like to know more about the bottom of the sea, you can do scuba diving in many places around the island. You may do a course to know how to do it and once you know, and you don’t need a teacher, you can do it by yourself. But you have to pay attention to the sea, to the waves… because this is a difficult sport in which you have to look around you to know the conditions.

  • Maybe you love adventure sports, in Tenerife you can do some of them but, one of the most important and which more experience and places to do it is the paragliding. To do it you may have some knowledge about the place, the wind… and you may do it with an instructor because one person alone, until he knows how to do things and he is experienced, can’t do it.
  • You don’t have to be a mountain climber to visit the Teide. The third biggest volcano in the entire world is waiting to you in Tenerife. You can take the cable railway to visit the volcano and, if you want, you can ask to a permission to go to the top.
  • Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the capital of the island and you can spend one day visiting it. Of course, if you go in Carnival, you may life this festival, you’ll enjoy it!
  • You can go to Adeje to take a boat to visit the whales. There are also options to see dolphins. These are two of the best options when you go to Adeje because you stay in a boat during all the day: there are travels of three or five hours, you can choose which one you prefer.
  • Where are the pyramids? It’s sure you think in Egypt but, if you come to Tenerife, you can also visit this structure because there are in Chacona, in the Valle del Güimar.

  • Do you like animals? If you like camels you can do a walk in one of them in Arona and, with that, you can get your camels and dromedaries driving licence.

  • You can to go visit other islands in just a couple of hours (you may use a boat or a plane, it depends on where do you want to go and where you are).
